Q: How do I establish an online account?
A: Before registering for any programs or activities online, you must establish an online registration account and receive a Customer ID and Password.

This is how you create an online registration account:

1) Click on the "My Account" button.

2) Fill out the form for New Account Request completely, including birth date and click submit. Please submit your request only once.

Please Note: If you are registering a child for a program, please use your own information when filling out the online registration account request form, NOT the information of the child you wish to register for an activity. Once you have an online registration account, you will have the opportunity to add family members.

3) After you submit your account request, AquaChamps will review your application and enable your account. They will then contact you to ensure your child is able to register in the appropriate group class that applies to their skill level. To ensure your child's success in our programs, you will not be able to enroll in any group classes until AquaChamps contacts you.

A: We recommend that each family establish one account. Create the account in the name of a Head of Household and then add all family member names to the account after it is established (see next question).
Q: How many Family Members can I add to My Account?
A: You may add as many members into your account as necessary.
Q: Can I view activities without registering?
A: You can always browse through the activities without registering. Click "Register Now" button and look at all the activities that are offered.
Q: What do I do if I forgot my password?
A: From the My Account program, enter your Login name. Then check the "Forgot your Password" box and click continue. You will advance to the custom security question you created when establishing your account. If, after reviewing your custom security question you do not recall your password, or if your password is not valid, please contact our office during normal business hours and a member of our staff will assist you.
Q: What will happen if I try to register for an activity that is fully enrolled?

If you do not want to be placed on the waiting list, click the "remove" button that appears on the screen. If a space opens for the class, you will be contacted immediately. If we are unable to contact you, your space will be given to the next customer on the wait list.
Q: Can I view my transaction history and print out my past receipts online?
A: Yes, from the date on which your online account is established. The "My Account" feature allows you to view a detailed list of your past transactions. Just login, click the "My Account" button, and select the program(s) providing transaction history.
Q: How can I view a schedule of my family's upcoming scheduled activities?
A: The My Account feature allows you to view a weekly schedule of your family's upcoming scheduled activities. Just login, click on the My Account button, and then click on Family Schedule. A weekly schedule will display all of the activities your family has been enrolled in and allow you to click on the activity for more information, such as the facility location where the activity is being held.
Q: Do I pay a convenience fee?
A: Yes, there is a small convenience fee typical of any internet sales. The fee is a percentage of the total receipt amount.
Q: When should I start?
A: The younger the better. Many children begin to develop a fear of the water as they get older, making learning to swim a more trying process. Our AquaTots program starts at 6 months of age and our Baby & Me program starts at 3 months of age.
Q: What time of year should I start?
A: Happier, safer, smarter swimmers swim year round! Building Champions In and Out of Water is not just seasonal; AquaChamps' programs are offered year round.
Q: Swimming vs acclimation:
A: Learning to swim is a process, which is why we recommend starting as young as three months of age and swimming year round. Becoming comfortable in the water is the first step in this process. Then with consistent practice proficiency will follow.
Q: Does my child need ear plugs or ear drops?
A: Only if recommended by a pediatrician. Both are available for purchase in the AquaChamps' store.
Q: Can my child swim with tubes in their ears?
A: Ask your pediatrician. If you are worried about ear infections or your child has tubes in his/her ears, try wearing ear plugs. Available in the AquaChamps' store.
Q: Do you throw them in the water?
A: Absolutely not.
Q: Can you come to my house?
A: Yes, we do offer home lessons. Costs vary depending on location.
Q: What should I look for in a swimming program?
A: It's a good idea to choose a swimming school or instructor who has liability insurance, several years of experience, warm water, people who can recommend them and a teaching philosophy that you agree with. It's also a good idea to observe some classes before participating, that way you and your child can visualize what to expect. Visit the United States Swim School Association's website at www.usswimschools.org for a list of swim schools in your area.
Q: FREQUENTLY HEARD EXCUSES NOT TO SWIM:
A: "I'm too old."
"My child is too young."
"She is too scared."
"He cries."
"My son is too curious about the water."
"She might get an ear infection."
"It's too expensive."
"We just haven't made the time, maybe next year."

These are things that people have said when asked if their child can swim. No one is too old, too young, too scared or too curious to learn how to swim. Everyone is worth the time, tears, money and effort. Yes, sometimes there are tears when children learn how to swim. However, it is a hurdle well worth tackling and the younger you start the easier it is. Swimming at a young age is an asset, not a hazard. You'll be teaching your child a skill that can save his or her life and can also provide so much more. As we frequently say to parents, "They cry when they get in the water for their first lesson and they cry when they have to get out of the water on their last lesson."
Q: Can you "drown-proof" my child? Can you make my child "water-safe"?
A: There is no such thing as "drown-proof" or "water-safe". Anyone, no matter what their age or swimming skills, can drown. By educating families about preventative drowning measures such as learning to swim, putting up barriers (pool fences, etc.), and learning proper responses (CPR & First Aid), we can all create safer, smarter swimmers.
